VAE, engaged by CPB Contractors, are currently undertaking the Mechanical Services on the Waikeria Prison Development in New Zealand.
The new Waikeria Corrections and Treatment facility is located on the existing 1200-hectare Waikeria Prison site in the Waikato region of New Zealand’s North Island and is due for completion in 2022.
The project comprises a new purpose-built prison facility, delivering accommodation for 500 prisoners. The facility includes an integrated secure mental health treatment precinct providing world-class care for an additional 100 prisoners.
VAE’s scope of work includes installation of all HVAC Systems (29 buildings), Central Hot Water Generation Plant, Central Chiller Plant & associated pump and pipework, Mechanical Switchboards (MSSB) comprising all cabling, support systems and Fire System Interface, followed by testing and commissioning.
