Advisory Services

VAE are HVAC practitioners. Because we construct HVAC systems and maintain over 500 buildings we’re able to assist our clients with solutions for difficult problems.

Design

With over 30 engineers and draftspeople on staff, we can design systems from scratch or work with a specialist consultant to provide our clients with cost-effective solutions.

Drafting

VAE drafts in Revit and uses Navisworks for clash detection. This means that we use the same software as the architect and structural engineer on the project allowing for a more streamlined, efficient process.

MEPF Drafting

VAE has in-house capabilities to draft in Revit for electrical contractors, hydraulic plumbing contractors and fire contractors.

Audit

With RPEQ engineers and accredited NABERS assessors on staff, we offer independent advice to our clients on building performance including ways that they can reduce costs.

Independent Commissioning Agent Service

VAE has acted as ICA in Brisbane, Townsville and Gladstone. Our clients have included the Department of Defence, 180 Ann Street and Lady Cilento Hospital. As well as providing a full ICA service, we also provide performance assessment reports for our clients.

Prefabrication

Designing and engineering for pre-fabrication improves installation quality and reduces on site installation time.

Installation

We ensure the right site manager for the project using the right methodology is assigned to each job. Each project is seen as a training opportunity for our employees allowing us to constantly improve our methodologies.

Automation

We use Tridium, Distech and Siemens control systems, but also install and manage 13 other BMS systems.

Electrical

Having an in-house electrical team allows us to tackle more complicated customer problems while providing advice on electrical issues which may impact on energy costs.

Commissioning

VAE have our own commissioning team because we know if we are to provide certainty, then we need to be confident in the operation of the systems we install. We commission using CIBSE guidelines and to NEBB standards.

BMS Maintenance

While currently maintaining over 15 building management systems, VAE is also capable of maintaining nearly any BMS system. We’re also able to upgrade legacy BMS systems which saves our clients the cost of total BMS replacement.

VAE Bureau

The VAE Bureau is a group within VAE that works with clients to actively monitor buildings from our Brisbane facility identifying potential changes to the way those buildings could be operating. This enables our service team to attend to potential issues before they arise.

Maintenance

VAE maintains over 500 buildings. We offer preventative maintenance, analytical maintenance, comprehensive maintenance and NABERS maintenance.

Compliance

Whilst there are many compliance issues associated with maintaining a building, the one that is most often overlooked is AS1851 smoke exhaust compliance. We have a dedicated team devoted specifically to this issue because of its importance for life safety.

Upgrades

Increasing demands for NABERS rating improvement and compliance with new codes means that buildings are constantly being upgraded. To ensure impact on tenants is minimised during upgrades, we have a specialist team that understands the technical and operational requirements for each project.

Refurbish and Fitout

Throughout the life of a building, the usage of the building will change. With those changes comes the requirement to manage the changes to the HVAC systems so there is no impact on existing tenants from a comfort or a life safety perspective.
