VAE Service Division maintain the iconic Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise

Towering over one of Australia’s favourite stretches of beach, Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise is an iconic landmark with Queensland’s only revolving restaurant. VAE’s Service division maintain the Mechanical and Building Management System (BMS) for the Hotel’s Main and Gold towers.

The site is predominately served by a central chilled water plant consisting of three of the latest technology Smardt Chillers. These chillers were installed in stages and replace the original Trane screw and centrifugal machines. VAE maintain the chiller plant, ventilation and essential services. All servicing is performed by our local Gold Coast team to Australian Standards, and include monthly, quarterly and annual routines.

The BMS is a combination of the pre-existing Tracer system which has been partially overlaid using Distech controllers. The Distech controllers provide the pre-existing system the ability to be expanded with current technology, maintained, and in necessary to be replaced when failures occur.

As part of our drive to provide energy efficient solutions for our customer, VAE installed Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors in the Crowne Plaza carpark. Fans that were previously running continually operate on CO emission detection, cycling on a required basis only.
