VAE Group were engaged by CPB Contractors to undertake the mechanical services on The Mater Private Hospital Stage 1 Redevelopment in Townsville. The new Pimlico campus building officially named ‘Mercy Centre’ reached completion in February 2020, with the facilities open to the public on 24th March 2020.
The project included the construction of a new three level clinical building with four additional operating theatres, recovery bays, expanded X-Ray facilities and a new entrance to the main hospital. The Mercy Centre forms part 1 of the 10-year master plan for the Mater Private Hospital in Townsville.
The project involved an underground pipe connection of the new Mercy Centre to the existing Central Energy Building without disruption of the existing hospital daily operations. Modifications were also made to some areas of the existing Lothair Building with new chilled water infrastructure and plant modifications.
