KOKODA YOUTH FOUNDATION Kokoda Challenge 2019

VAE Group Drafties, Robbie Carr and Matthew Hart, have signed on for round two of the Kokoda Challenge. In 2017, they completed their first attempt at this grueling challenge in 28 hours, minus a few toenails and some very sore blistered feet.

This year, on 20 – 21 July, the boys are going into the 96km course a little more prepared and are hoping to complete it in under 24 hours.
Robbie said, “The Kokoda Challenge was one of the toughest challenges both mentally and physically that he has encountered, but the feeling of accomplishment once we had crossed the finish line is an experience I will never forget”.

The Kokoda Youth Foundation (KYF)
Established in 2004 by Doug Henderson and his wife Anna, the KYF supports Australian teens by inspiring them to do extraordinary things.
We aim to spread awareness of the heroic defense of Australia against imminent invasion and the spirit of our young soldiers, instilling the Kokoda values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice into the community of today. These timeless Kokoda values still have a profound impact on individuals and are the basis of a healthy community.

The Spirit of Kokoda demonstrates that when we work together, look out for each other, and show commitment to a task, things that at first seem impossible, suddenly become achievable.
