Griffith University Logan and Gold Coast Campus’s Chiller Upgrade

VAE are pleased to continue our work with Griffith University after being awarded the Chiller Upgrade projects for Griffith University Gold Coast and Logan Campuses. VAE are acting as Principal Contractor for both projects.

Griffith University operates five campus locations in Southeast Queensland and is ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide.

The Gold Coast Campus is located within the cutting-edge Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct—alongside Gold Coast University Hospital and is home to 21,000 students, making it the largest campus within the Griffith University portfolio with a strong focus on medicine, dentistry, and health.

The Logan Campus is home to about 2000 students and is based in Queensland’s rapidly developing third-largest city, leading the way in flexible learning options with strong connections to the local community.

The chiller upgrade projects comprise the replacement of the existing chilled water plant across multiple locations, all to be conducted while the campuses continue to operate.

A key requirement of the projects was the safe execution of site works for all stakeholders, including rigging, cranage and cutover of the new plant with minimal disruption to campus operations.
