Brisbane Lions Brighton Homes Arena

The Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield is the new home of the Brisbane Lion’s Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) team. Providing high performance facilities for the first purpose-built Women’s Australian Football premier match facility in Australia.

Hutchies engaged VAE Group to undertake the design and construction of the mechanical services on the project. The brand new facility officially opened with the AFLW 2022 season Grand Final on 27 November, with crowd of 7,412 spectators. The Lions going down to Melbourne Demons in a thriller 2.7 (19) to 2.3 (15).

As well as being home to the Brisbane Lions, Brighton Arena is a fantastic new community precinct, with over 50% of the facility designed for community use with meeting spaces, function rooms, parklands, a café, gym, pool, and wellness centre filled with elite level equipment.

VAE Group are thrilled to have been a part of the expert team working on this historic project for Southeast Queensland. We look forward to witnessing the role this facility will take in the future of women’s sport and community for generations to come.
