#The Project

Borallon Training and Correctional Centre is a 492-bed facility located outside of Brisbane. It incorporates a training facility educating inmates in skills such as automotive, engineering, construction, horticulture and kitchen operations which increases the opportunity for gainful employment upon release.

The construction project is currently run within the live Prison at Borallon which requires a higher level of coordination for logistics and pre-planned constructions activities that normal sites do not normally experience.

With upfront engineering, VAE were able to provide an alternative mechanical design to not only provide a significant cost saving to the client, but to also provide a more efficient mechanical system that is easier to construct, commission and maintain.

#Key Achievements

01

Off site fabrication to minimise waste within the facility.

02

Management of construction zone to eliminate temptation for theft.
