The journey

Enertec is formed.

VAE is formed.

VAE partners with Enertec for the design, procurement and commissioning of HVAC systems for the Exxon-Mobil LPG Operations Centre in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. VAE is awarded several contracts by Hutchinson Builders in Brisbane and we start recruiting.

Enertec and VAE merge to form the VAE Group. We kick off our service division and provide HVAC services for two Green Star office towers in Townsville, Queensland which leads to us opening a branch there.

Riparian Plaza in Brisbane's CBD requires an improvement to their NABERS rating and the quality of their air conditioning. VAE wins the job and substantially reduces the building's energy and water usage. We start work on refurbishing Cairns Base Hospital and open a regional branch there.

A large downturn in the economy sees three large HVAC companies shut down and we pick up key staff that allows us to grow the business further. We win two large contracts for Orion Shopping Centre expansion and a new facility for Sullivan and Nicolaides headquarters.

VAE introduces the VAE Bureau which assists clients in maximising the benefits they get from their HVAC systems whilst minimising their energy and operational costs. Hutchinson Builders award us seven projects and our team experiences expansive growth.

We win the Acute Services Building at Christchurch Hospital which allows VAE to expand further and open our first New Zealand office. VAE also wins the Queensland State Government BAS contracts for mechanical services in the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Townsville.
